At BIS-NY we deliver the English National Curriculum through the framework of the International Baccalaureate (IB) for students from Nursery (Bees) up until Year 9 (Grade8). In our Upper School we offer the world renown and highly portable IGCSE and A-Level programme to offer our students maximum flexibility and depth of learning as they complete high school.

Our curriculum provides children with robust and internationally recognised qualifications, as well as an approach to learning that feels familiar as they settle in a new learning environment. In addition to this tried and tested academic curriculum, the I.B.'s cross-curricular approach to learning provides an inquiry based framework, building connections between subjects, promoting critical thinking motivating and preparing students for the next stage of their education.

When it's time to relocate back to the UK, or move onwards into another international setting - you can feel reassured that your children are ready and able to make that transition, prepared academically and socially for the next challenge ahead.

Do you accept applications throughout the year?

Yes. We understand how complex a relocation can be, and we accept applications throughout the year to support families with changing and uncertain relocation plans. We work with you throughout your journey to ensure you have all the information you need and help give you peace of mind around your children's education here in New York.

If you are interested in BIS-NY we encourage you to make an application in order to reserve a place. We then will work with you to confirm your place and start date as your plans become clearer.

Where do your pupils come from?

Which qualifications do you offer?

We follow the English National Curriculum delivered within the framework of the International Baccalaureate in the Primary Years and Middle Years.

In Upper School our students take the internationally acclaimed Cambridge International Examinations for IGCSE's, AS and A Levels.

How do I apply remotely?

We understand that not all families will be able to visit us in person prior to their move to New York and have tried to make our application process as easy as possible for families applying from abroad.

Step 1: Fill out an online application for your child
Step 2: Email a copy of their Birth Certificate or Passport to us directly (admissions@BIS-NY.org) along with copies of 2 most recent school reports (if available).
Step 3: Share the relevant Teacher Recommendation form with your childs current teacher and ask them to send them to us directly.
Step 4: Once we receive your application we may arrange a brief video call so we can get to know your child.
Step 5: We will let you know the outcome of your application and make sure you are prepared for the start of school.

Will you help us find future schools after BIS-NY?

Yes. For families not staying at BIS-NY through our Upper School we have a dedicated 'exmissions' team and placement team who will help you prepare for schools beyond BIS-NY when the time comes to move home, or onto your next adventure. Our robust and internationally acclaimed curriculum is recognised in the worlds leading educational institutions and we have excellent relationships with many partner and future schools across the world.
