The Parents’ Association (PA) aims to engender a strong community spirit by developing and supporting a series of activities & events for the parents, teachers & children of BISNY.
It is our mission to promote the international spirit of the school & hold events which reflect the diverse cultural nature & non-denominational status of our school. It is also our hope to back up the IBPYP philosophy on which the school runs & help our children gain a better understanding of the world at large by blending ‘British’, ‘International’ & of course ‘New York’.
In conjunction with the school the PA will help to organize international cultural celebrations & research community service & charity opportunities that tie in with the curriculum & philosophy of the school.
On a more personal level we wholeheartedly hope to create a close knit & welcoming community who will always be available to offer friendly advice & support to all parents.
The Executive Board of the PA will act as an interface between the parents and the school on all non-academic issues involving our children and the school. These include: Book Fair, year end staff gifts, school lunches/snack, parent handbooks, school trips, International Week, after school activities and used uniforms etc.
Direct questions concerning the welfare and education of a particular child is not part of the Parents’ Association role & should be taken directly to the form teacher or the Headmaster for the speediest resolution.
