Christopher Volkovitsch, one of the students in Year 8 (Grade 7), has consistently demonstrated his outstanding mathematical ability through the New York Mathematics League. BIS-NY Ski Trip 2011

We flew from Newark to Denver and coached to the resort, through some fairly spectacular countryside, described to us on the way by, “Wild Bill”, our local driver. We stayed at the heart of the resort and the children skied and snowboarded, with their various instructors, for four days. Progress was impressive, particularly from the complete beginner group, [...]

As part of our Unit, ‘Digging into the past’, we uncovered exciting treasures from Ancient Egypt right here in our BISNY classrooms! It was great fun presenting our finds with labels just like the museum. We had a super time at The Metropolitan Museum of Art before the break and learned so much. Thank you to all of the parents who helped us on our trip.

    Visit to Whole Foods

As part of the Unit of Inquiry 5AG took a trip to Whole Foods to find out a little bit about how food is distributed.  This unit looks at food production and distribution as a human system involving many different processes and types of employment.  While on the trip we learned about how food is displayed, the types of foods Whole Foods distributes, and what the company is doing to help the Fair Trade, Organic, and Locally Grown movements. The [...]
