A warm welcome to The British International School
of New York.
The British International School of New York is an exciting, dynamic school that enables local and international families to grow in confidence and understanding. Our core values of professional, global and individual are fostered by our approach. Our stimulating curriculum combining the International Baccalaureate and the English National Curriculum is distinctive in Manhattan. Our highly-qualified and internationally trained faculty put your child’s growth and development at the heart of our lessons.
In short, BIS-NY is a vibrant, globally focused and diverse community with a strong caring attitude which allows all our pupils to feel confident and creative. To be certain I invite you to take the time to visit our stunning campus.
I was born in Oxford into an academic family and from an early stage was exposed to the freedom and excitement of learning. The value of a quality education is something that lasts throughout your life. BIS-NY is lucky to have a faculty of lifelong learners who empower our pupils with the tools necessary for the 21st century.
My own educational experience has allowed me to embrace this unique school. I was educated at the Dragon School in Oxford, Clifton College in Bristol, and Kings College in London where I read Theology. These leading educational institutions have given me an appreciation of the need for quality education in our society. It takes time, effort and determination to give children the self-confidence to succeed in all situations.
My first teaching post at Aldenham School allowed me to acquire the skills needed for teaching, Abingdon School allowed me to sharpen these skills, and my position as Head of Boarding offered me in-depth focus on the vital experiences beyond the classroom.
I am passionate about independent education, as I believe that exceptional schools produce exceptional people. Leading the British International School of New York is an opportunity of a life-time, and one which I really enjoy waking up to day after day.
