Nicola Smyth studied at St Mary’s University College in Twickenham, London where she obtained a BA Honors degree in Primary Education, specializing in Mathematics and Religious Education.

Prior to her move to New York in December 2009, Nicola worked in a primary school in London for three years where she taught Years 1 and 2, was Numeracy Coordinator for the school and acted as mentor for student teachers.

From a young age Nicola has thoroughly enjoyed several dancing disciplines and has achieved honors in all grades of IDTA Ballet, Tap and Freestyle.

Nicola is thrilled to be working at BIS-NY where she is able to follow her passion of teaching an inquiry based curriculum.
