Michele Schwartz

Chief Financial Officer

Michele Schwartz graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Accounting from the State University of New York at Albany.

She went on to work for Ernst & Young LLC in their audit group where she became a Certified Public Accountant.  She later moved on to Dun & Bradstreet, Inc. where she traveled extensively as part of their internal audit group, leading financial and operational audits, due diligence and fraud reviews of their worldwide subsidiaries.  Following the D&B divestiture in 1996, Michele was asked to set up the global internal audit function for AC Nielsen, one of the entities spun off from the D&B conglomerate.

She later joined the publishing world as a Business Manager to the President of Sales & Merchandising at Random House, Inc. and played a key role in the merger of the sales force following the acquisition of Bantam Doubleday Dell in 1998.

During the internet boom, Michele was recruited as Director of Finance for the NY office of an internet startup that was based in San Francisco.  After moving to the suburbs of Rockland County with her family in 2003, Michele became the Chief Operating Officer of The Rockland Country Day School.

In 2008 she became the Chief Financial Officer at BIS-NY, and has very much enjoys playing an integral part in the growth of the school.  Michele is responsible for the finance and operations of the school, and she embraces her diverse and fast-paced role.  Both of her children are currently enrolled at BIS-NY.

In her free time Michele enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, music, yoga, skiing, and running.
