Christina Gerhard

Administrative Assistant

Christina1 Gerhard, Ms. C.

Originally from New Jersey, Christina attended Kent Place, an all female Independent School, before going on to the George Washington University. At GW she received a BA in Psychology and was determined to pursue a career as a therapist. After many internships and counseling experiences, Christina decided that it was in her best interest to make a switch to a more upbeat and social environment. Still wanting to pursue a career that was essentially based around helping people, Christina decided to make a switch to education administration where she could continue to assist individuals and families and strive to give them the best educational experience as possible.

Christina startedher career in New York at the New York Kids Club as the Location Manager at their Battery Park location. She also served as their Weekend Events Coordinator as well as their Human Resources Director, where she managed the HR department for a total of 100 employees. She saw nearly 450 families on a weekly basis and the wonderful relationships that she built with them   solidified her desire to continue working with families.

After learning of an open position here at BIS-NY, Christina wanted to go back to her Independent School roots and couldn’t think of a more perfect place to continue her career. Having always valued the culture and guidance that she received while in school, she was excited to be back in a similar environment (although now an administrator instead of a student)! While at BIS-NY, Christina has taken on various roles primarily in the Admissions and HR Departments. She looks forward to continuing to build relationships with current families, as well as welcoming new families to BIS-NY!
