Aaron Irwin
Music Teacher
Born in the Decatur, Illinois, saxophonist, multi-woodwind player, and composer Aaron Irwin is a much-in-demand musician, having performed and recorded with many of New York’s finest musicians and bands, as well as recording two CDs of his own for the prestigious label Fresh Sound/New Talent. His first CD, Into the Light was heralded by the New Yorker magazine as one of the ten best recordings of 2006 alongside artists such as Ornette Coleman, Joe Lovano, and Paul Motian. He has toured Germany, Austria, Holland, Switzerland, Ireland, Japan, and the United States playing jazz festivals, Broadway productions, and other various types of shows.
Mr. Irwin holds a Bachelors degree in music from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois and a Masters degree in music from the University of Miami in Miami, Florida. He has over ten years of teaching experience including teaching at the New World School of the Arts in Miami, Florida, The Bergen Academy of Music in Oradell, New Jersey, and maintaining a private teaching studio of students of all ages and abilities.
He is very happy to be a part of the British International School, where he hopes to share his passion for music and learning.
