HRH Princess Alexandra Visits The British International School of New York

Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra visited New York’s only British International School, The British International School of New York on October 26, 2011.
During her visit the Princess enjoyed a choral recital, two pieces of music and some moving poetry performed by students ranging from 4-14 years old. Other visitors present included the Board of Governors, the Parent Association and the heads of The British International School’s sister schools Abercorn School in London and Abercorn International School in Austin, Texas.
Headmaster William Phelps said of Her Royal Highness’s visit:
The pupils and faculty really had a wonderful day. The School’s achievements shone out and we are very proud of our links to the United Kingdom.
Princess Alexandra unveiled a plaque to re-dedicate the Library as “The Princess Alexandra Library” and to commemorate her visit.
Princess Alexandra is Patron to the Council of British International Schools (COBIS).
